Description/Job Summary

International Senior Tax Analyst

The Senior Tax Analyst will mainly assist with ASC 740 reporting for international operations, as well as prepare US information returns for foreign entities, with exposure to other US federal and state and Canadian tax compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare annual foreign tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, including estimates of book to tax adjustments;
  • Prepare foreign return to provision (true up) calculations and journal entries, while working with local tax return preparers or Company personnel in understanding and explaining large variances;
  • Assist with review of monthly and quarterly foreign tax provisions and provide guidance to local accountants;
  • Rollover and import/enter data for foreign provisions into CorpTax global provision software,  and troubleshoot any system issues as they arise;
  • Maintain and reconcile deferred tax accounts for foreign companies;
  • Prepare US Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, including supporting workpapers and maintenance of earnings and profits and tax pool computations of foreign entities;
  • Prepare foreign tax credit analysis and related Forms 1118, including supporting workpapers and allocations and sourcing of income;
  • Analyze foreign dividends for proper reporting and inclusion in the quarterly and annual tax provision;
  • Prepare other US tax filings: FATCA documentation, FBAR filings; and Forms 1042;
  • Assist with preparation of US federal and state and local income tax returns;
  • Liaise with Accounting and external tax return prepares for the information required to prepare the Canadian income tax returns;
  • Prepare Canada annual arm's length transaction reports and annual withholding tax filings;
  • Assist with maintenance of policies and procedures for international tax processes, including CorpTax software, while ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404  requirements;
  • Assist with IRS audit inquiries;
  • Assist VP Tax and Tax Manager with international tax matters, including transfer pricing, and other special projects, as needed.

Skills / Competencies:

  • Should have  2 to 4 years Tax experience, preferably in International Tax.
  • Experience with ASC 740 a plus.
  • Experience with CorpTax global provision a plus.
  • Strong computer and technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Intellectually curious and has the ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain stability of performance under pressure with a clear sense of priorities and deadlines.
  • The ability to work both independently and contribute to the effective performance of the team, as well as work for the overall success of the company.

Education:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting preferred.
